Terms and Conditions

All clients are very important to New Beginnings Dog Training.  

 

New Beginnings Dog Training is  solely run by Jo (Joanne) Lawrence.

​

New Beginnings Dog Training hold your appointments just for you and ask that if you must cancel or reschedule any 1:2:1 or group booking, you provide notice within the specified notice period depending on the service that has been booked.  See below for further details.

This way New Beginnings Dog Training will be able to adjust their schedules accordingly and  will be able to accommodate other clients on the waiting list. 

 

New Beginnings Dog Training does of course understand that unavoidable issues come up and will do their best to work with you in case of an emergency and in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of New Beginnings Dog Training, will refund any deposit made.

Bookings Policy

​

Upon booking whether online or in person, you are agreeing to New Beginnings Dog Training Terms and Conditions and that you have read and fully understand our cancellation policy.

​

All group classes and private 1:2:1 lessons require the appropriate deposit to be paid to confirm/secure your booking.

 

New Beginnings Dog Training will reserve your booking date/time for 24hrs from the time of notification to the client.  

After 24hrs, if the deposit has not been paid, New Beginnings Dog Training reserves the right to offer the session time to another client.

 

Dog on dog and / or dogs showing aggression towards humans:   New Beginnings Dog Training services include dealing with dogs who are reactive towards other dogs and/or human beings.  At the time of booking, clients must inform New Beginnings Dog Training if they have knowledge of their dog having previously exhibited any aggressive behaviour towards any other dog or human being.  This information will be assessed by New Beginnings Dog Training on an individual basis, so that appropriate safeguarding measures can be put in place.   New Beginnings Dog Training reserves the right to cease any session where this information has not been forthcoming at the time of booking or if during a training session aggression is exhibited by any dog where likelihood of serious injury is foreseen to either the trainer, another dog or client.  In such circumstances where previous knowledge has not been communicated to New Beginnings Dog Training, FULL payment for the training session will be required.

Cancellation Rights

​

You have the right to cancel your place on the service booked and you will receive a full deposit refund should you cancel within the specified time period before the date of the booking (details given below). 

Refunds will not be given if cancellation is after the specified time period prior to the date of the booking.

In the event of cancelling a one to one booking, New Beginnings Dog Training  requires 12 hours notice prior to the date/time of your one to one booking.  This notification must be done by email or text/WhatsApp message.

 

In the event of cancelling a Group Session, New Beginnings Dog Training requires 7 days notice prior to the start date of the booking.  Notification must be done via Email or text / WhatsApp message.

 New Beginnings Dog Training reserves the right to change the content, timing, date or venue of any booking. New Beginnings Dog Training will avoid this as much as possible, but sometimes this is unavoidable, particularly with changes in the weather meaning we may have to postpone a session. 

If New Beginnings Dog Training know in advance that the weather will not be suitable, they will let you know at least 6 hours before the start of the booking/ session. An alternative mutually agreed date/time will then be offered.  New Beginnings Dog Training will not be liable for any losses or expense arising from amendments to the session/course or cancellations.​

 

 

 

Confidentiality, Course Content & Material

 

New Beginnings Dog Training respects your privacy in accordance with the GDPR and must insist that you also rejector privacy, as well as that of fellow clients. You agree that you will not share your access to any course material (in whatever form), with any other persons, except for family members. By agreeing to these policies, you acknowledge that all confidential material and information revealed to you is and remains the sole intellectual property of New Beginnings Dog Training or the participant who revealed it.

 

 

 

Data Protection

 

The information provided at the time of booking will only be used as a record of you and your dog, and to contact you in relation to dog training activities and will not be passed on to any third parties.

 

 

Photo Release

By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you give New Beginnings Dog Training permission to publish in print, electronic, or video format the likeness or image of you and/or your dog.  As such you release all claims against New Beginnings Dog Training with respect to privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright ownership and publication, including any claim for compensation related to use of the materials.

Confidentiality: 

All client details are kept in confidence and are not passed onto a third party for promotional use. Any details disclosed to New Beginnings Dog Training is  only on a ‘need to know’ basis. Email addresses are used to inform clients of  activities and services, you can request not to receive emails from us.

 

 

 

 

Attending New Beginnings Dog Training training area

 

New Beginnings Dog Training has a training area within the grounds of their family home, therefore we ask the following:

 

- Please keep your dog/s on lead at all times unless otherwise directed.

- You are responsible for the behaviour and actions of your dog while attending training and are required to clean up after your dog should they go to the toilet. Please be a responsible dog owner and always clean up after your dog. Used poo bags can be left by the training room as you leave and I can dispose of these for you on site. 

- Please do not allow dogs to pee on any training equipment as this can be very distracting for other dogs.  Accidents do happen, so just let me know!!

- You must follow instructions at all times, including all safety instructions and don't use equipment when your trainer is not present.

- Equipment is designed for dog use only and New Beginnings Dog Training takes no responsibility for loss or personal damages that may occur when equipment is in use.

- It is your responsibility as the owner to ensure your dog is fit and healthy to attend training. Your dog must be vaccinated and not suffering from any infectious disease that could be transmitted to any other dogs. If in doubt about your dog’s health please consult a veterinarian.

- Please inform New Beginnings Dog Training if your female dog is in season.

 -     New Beginnings Dog Training practise kind, fair and effective techniques.  Harsh handling of dogs is wholeheartedly discouraged and shouting or smacking, are not permitted. 

- You may not use any gadget or device whilst training with New Beginnings Dog Training that we consider aversive -  pinch collars, spray collars, compressed air canisters or any other device, or method, that has potential to cause injury, pain or fear.  If in doubt please ask.

- We use reward based training therefore harsh handling will NOT be allowed under any circumstances.  New Beginnings Dog Training reserves the right to request any persons to leave the premises or cease the session if they are abusive to any other person or dog.  Please ensure you have lots of treats and your dog's favourite toy available whilst attending training.

- Any accidents or issues involving a person or a dog must be reported immediately to New Beginnings Dog Training

- Cars are parked at their owner’s risk. New Beginnings Dog Training do not accept any responsibility for theft or damage to cars or property whilst at training.

- Family members are always welcome at your 1-2-1 or group training session. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

- New Beginnings Dog Training  may occasionally record or take photos for promotional purposes, however please alert us if you do not wish to appear.

 

What to wear for training 

Our training involves practical handling therefore appropriate shoes and clothing is recommended. Please wear comfortable flat shoes for safety reasons, as you will be moving about. You may at times be required during training to get down on the ground therefore suitable attire is recommended. Suitable footwear is a must for wet weather.

 

Welfare and Safety at training 

Please keep to areas designated only for our training purposes.

All dogs must be kept under the owner’s control and on a lead, except where specifically instructed by your trainer.

You are responsible for the conduct of your dog at all times.

We provide a safe and secure environment as practicably reasonable and endeavour to apply good practices with all our training services.

We endeavour to run your training session in as safe and professional manner as possible.

New Beginnings Dog Training also takes all reasonable precautions when providing behavioural services to minimise the risk of injury from being bitten. However remote, dog training is not without risk therefore participation in training and behaviour services is at the owner’s risk.

New Beginnings Dog Training  will not accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage to any persons, or dogs attending a course, or to their property howsoever caused during the provision of dog training activities.

Owners are advised to have appropriate pet insurance cover that includes third party liability insurance.

New Beginnings Dog Training has public liability and relevant business insurance to run individual training sessions and to provide training consultations, providing adequate cover for our business liabilities. 

New Beginnings Dog Training will not take responsibility for misinterpretation of advice.
