WalkOuts

Suitable for owners and dogs who have already established some foundation skills and are ready to begin putting them into practice in real-life environments.
Taking Training Into the Real World
We're not simply going for a walk together... we're taking your training into the real world.
Many dogs listen beautifully in familiar surroundings.
The real test comes when life happens around them.
It's one thing having a dog that listens in a training venue...
It's another having a dog that chooses to listen when there's another dog approaching, children playing football, cyclists passing by or squirrels racing across the path!
WalkOuts have been designed to help owners continue their Learning Journey by taking the skills they've already developed and applying them in everyday environments where distractions naturally occur.
Every WalkOut includes core foundation exercises such as walking nicely on a lead, steadiness, focus and basic stationary positions such as SIT, helping to reinforce the skills that owners use every day.
Depending on the location and opportunities available, we may also work on recalls.
Because no two locations—or days—are ever quite the same, every WalkOut provides fresh learning opportunities whilst continuing to strengthen the partnership between you and your dog.
If you're new to New Beginnings, don't worry. Simply get in touch and tell me a little about your dog and any previous training experience. I'll happily help you choose the most appropriate starting point for you both.
Small Groups. Individual Learning.
Whilst some exercises involve working around other dogs, every owner-and-dog team is afforded their own personal space. Exercises are carefully planned and managed to ensure dogs aren't pushed beyond what they're comfortable with, and every activity can be adapted to suit where both you and your dog are on your Learning Journey.
Where We'll Train
Every WalkOut location is chosen for a reason.
Whether it's a woodland path, riverside walk, country park, village or town environment, each location offers different learning opportunities and carefully managed distractions. By gradually introducing your dog to a variety of real-life situations, you'll both continue building confidence, communication and reliability wherever life takes you.
Meet-up locations are published when each WalkOut becomes available to book.
How to Join a Class
WalkOuts are offered on a Pay As You Go basis.
Current New Beginnings clients can book sessions through the Setmore booking link published each week in the New Beginnings WhatsApp Community.
If you're new to New Beginnings, simply get in touch. I'll happily explain how the WhatsApp Community works, answer any questions you may have and help you become part of the New Beginnings community.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my dog be expected to interact with other dogs?
No. The focus is on helping your dog remain calm, engaged and responsive around other dogs—not on encouraging dogs to meet or play with one another.
Can dogs that are reactive or worried around other dogs attend?
Possibly—and I'd always be happy to discuss your individual circumstances before you book.
Although WalkOuts are delivered in a small group setting, each owner-and-dog team works individually.
Whilst some exercises involve working around other dogs, every owner-and-dog team is afforded their own personal space. Exercises are adapted to suit where both you and your dog are on your Learning Journey.
What happens if the weather is poor?
WalkOuts are outdoor sessions, so occasionally weather conditions mean they need to be rearranged. Dog welfare will always come first.
