ABC / Agility

Suitable for owners who want to develop agility skills whilst strengthening teamwork, communication and their relationship with their dog in a fun and supportive environment.

Forget What You Think an Agility Class Looks Like...

ABC / Agility isn't about producing competition dogs.
It's about building an even better partnership between you and your dog through fun, engaging exercises that combine agility foundations, communication, focus and teamwork.
Whether you're learning your very first obstacle or refining more advanced handling skills, every session is designed to help both ends of the lead develop together whilst having plenty of fun along the way.
Every achievement, no matter how small, helps strengthen your partnership. As your teamwork develops, so does your understanding of one another, making every session rewarding for both dog and owner.

You Might Find Us...

  • Developing the foundations needed for safe, enjoyable agility.

  • Learning handling skills and improving communication.

  • Building confidence around agility equipment.

  • Improving balance, coordination and body awareness.

  • Negotiating simple courses together.

  • Having plenty of fun along the way!

Small Groups. Individual Learning.

Although ABC / Agility takes place in a small group setting, each owner-and-dog team works individually rather than everyone carrying out the same exercise at the same time.
Whilst some exercises involve working around other dogs, every owner-and-dog team is afforded their own personal space. Activities are adapted to suit the individual dog and owner, allowing everyone to progress at a pace that's right for them.

Where You'll Train

ABC / Agility makes full use of both my dedicated indoor and outdoor training facilities, allowing sessions to continue throughout the year and providing a wide variety of learning opportunities.

How to Join a Class

ABC / Agility is offered on a Pay As You Go basis.
Dedicated Beginners classes are available for owners and dogs taking their first steps into agility. I also offer Mixed Ability sessions, where every exercise is adapted to suit the experience of each owner-and-dog team.
If you're unsure which class would suit you and your dog best, simply get in touch and I'll happily point you in the right direction.
Current New Beginnings clients book through the Setmore booking link published each week in the New Beginnings WhatsApp Community. If you're new to New Beginnings, I'll happily explain how everything works and help you become part of the New Beginnings community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my dog need previous agility experience?

No. Beginners are very welcome and dedicated Beginners classes are available.

Do I have to compete?

Not at all. These sessions are about enjoyment, teamwork and building a stronger partnership rather than preparing for competition.

Is ABC / Agility suitable for every dog?

Almost every dog can enjoy ABC / Agility, but every dog is an individual. Exercises are adapted to suit each dog's age, physical development and ability. For younger dogs, the emphasis is on body awareness, coordination and good foundations rather than repetitive jumping or physically demanding activities. I also have equipment suitable for a wide variety of breeds and sizes, including smaller dogs. Dog welfare always comes first.

My dog gets over-excited around other dogs. Can we still attend?

Possibly. I'd be happy to discuss your individual circumstances before you book. Every owner-and-dog team is afforded their own personal space and activities are adapted to suit the individual dog.
