Mind and Movement

Suitable for owners who want to provide their dog with enjoyable mental enrichment through activities that develop problem-solving skills, proprioception (body awareness) and thoughtful use of both mind and body.

Giving Dogs the Opportunity to Think

Mind & Movement is all about providing your dog with enjoyable mental enrichment through fun, stimulating activities that develop problem-solving skills, proprioception (body awareness) and thoughtful use of both mind and body.
This isn't an obedience class and it isn't agility. Instead, it's a unique combination of activities designed to encourage dogs to think, explore and solve problems whilst becoming more aware of how they use their bodies.
Many of the exercises are simple to recreate at home too, giving you plenty of ideas to continue enriching your dog's life on those rainy Devon days when getting outdoors isn't always possible.
There is no pressure to get everything right first time. Dogs are encouraged to work things out at their own pace, helping owners discover just how capable they really are when given the opportunity to think for themselves.

Small Groups. Individual Learning.

Although Mind & Movement takes place in a small group setting, each owner-and-dog team works individually rather than everyone carrying out the same exercise at the same time.
Every activity can be adapted to suit the individual dog, allowing owners to work at a pace that's appropriate for their dog's experience, confidence and ability.

Where You'll Train

Mind & Movement sessions make full use of both my dedicated indoor and outdoor training facilities, allowing me to create a wide variety of ever-changing activities and challenges.
Whether we're working indoors or outdoors, every exercise has a purpose and can be adapted to suit the individual owner-and-dog team, ensuring sessions remain engaging, enjoyable and appropriate for all abilities.

Can older dogs enjoy Mind & Movement?

Absolutely. Because the emphasis is on thoughtful mental enrichment and body awareness rather than speed or physical exertion, many older dogs thoroughly enjoy the activities.

Can reactive or worried dogs attend?
